You nailed it! We just got back from Yom Kippur. As if there isn’t enough standing, the mail order Rabbi forgets to tell us to sit down, so we’re still standing when the service says…all rise. All rise? Yikes! We never got to sit! I finally sat down next to Granny, like she needed my company so she didn’t feel all alone with her sitting. I just sort of hooked onto the slipstream of her sitting, so to speak. Hey, it worked!

Another suggestion that this local temple does – when the rabbi tells you to read the next 10 pages silently, try what we do. I play a flute meditation when people have been reading for a couple of minutes and once I finish, everyone gets to stop reading. Works like a charm! And the music is a welcome distraction.
